What is reactivity?
At Good Dog our years of experience transforming relationships between dogs and their people means we know what gets the best results for you and your dog. You have many beautiful years together to come, and investing the time in their training now ensures those years will be as enjoyable as possible. Our reactivity training programs are designed using fun, positive and science-based methods to provide all the essential training with your dog needs and prepare you with the knowledge to reach your goals faster.
Signs Your Dog may Need Aggression, Reactivity and Behaviour Modification Training:
Does your dog bark or lunge at other dogs or people on walks?
Are you struggling to enjoy your walks with your dog?
Do walks with your dog cause more stress than fun?
Are you struggling to control your dog’s behaviour when guests visit? Is your dog always on guard?
Is your dog fearful of people or other dogs?
Does your dog guard toys, food, people or spaces?
Did you know that most reactive behaviour stems from fear or anxiety? Our reactivity specialist knows what it’s like to live with reactive and aggressive behaviour in dogs as she lives with two reactive dogs herself.
Reactivity Training
Reactivity is one the most challenging things a dog owner will face.
During our time together we will take a deep dive into your dogs reactive behaviour and help you gain a better understanding of what is going on and how we can help improve your dogs behaviour. When dealing with reactive or anxious behaviours we are addressing an emotional response and just like when we address an emotional response in humans, progression takes time. Our approach includes education for you as well as physical skills and tips for your dog. You will receive written documents with information you can access at any time as well as a recording of any of the webinars you attend to review as often as you’d like. We use a science based proven approach that includes skills taught using positive reinforcement techniques.
What you can expect:
We want you to get the most out of your time with Jaime when you sit down together so we will be asking you to fill out a questionnaire when you register for one of our programs. By filling this out Jaime has an opportunity to get to know your dog before the session. We also work on educating the human end if the leash by first prioritizing our prerecorded Reactivity 101 webinar filled with valuable information that every reactive dog gaurdian needs to know. After you’ve completed your Reactivity 101 Webinar you can move forward with your package of choice! If you’re not sure what package would be right for you, you can schedule a 30 minute phone consultation with Jaime.
